I was on board with this project the moment that I met Briana. The idea was to have a video that shows how much love there is in adoption. There would be a perspective from the birth moms themselves and also adoptive families. The core of who I am as an artist is storytelling, I push so much the importance of portaying a story in my films and this story had to be told.

Fast forward six months and we were all ready for the shoot (thanks to the huge amount of time and effort by Briana and all those involved). I met some wonderful people on this shoot (Birth moms, photographers and so many people who donated to see this come together). In short I am very proud of the film I created for such a wonderful cause. It was an inspiring and emotional experience for me and feel so blessed to be able to share this with everyone.

I could tell you the story of how they met or talk about their wedding day in Monterey and how fantastic it was but I will let the videos do the talking. I do want to say that for a couple to put so much trust in my talents and abilities is such a great feeling. Vivienne first booked me in September of 2010 and through countless emails and phone conversations we put her vision of a wedding video into reality. Their wedding took place in the Monterey Museum of Art in Monterey, CA and they actually had me out a few months later to shoot their couples story film in San Francisco. You can see the joy and happiness in their faces in each of these videos and I just love that about them, they are very real and honest people.

I love when I can work with families on multiple weddings throughout the years. This was the third wedding in the Alston family and it has been such a privilege getting to know them. Paige’s sisters wedding had to be one of the coldest I have ever shot and it was in April! Luckily the weather was just right for Taylor + Paige’s big day. They were married in the Draper Temple with a reception at The Garden Place @ This is the Place Heritage Park.

I also had the opportunity to work with the super talented Travis with Travis J Photography, check out his work, seriously!

I would have never realized how much I love being a Dad and the role that I take in this little persons life. She looks up to me for knowledge, strength, confidence, hugs, kisses and I am her everything (along with her wonderful mommy). In turn she is our everything and perfect example of the joy and happiness life can bring. These short videos I make of her will be one of the greatest things for me to look back on in years to come. This last month we took her to Disneyland for the first time. Thinking there would be nothing for her to do we were actually surprised at how many things there are for someone under 2 years old. I of course brought the video camera along and got some footage of Disneyland through her eyes. Hope you enjoy it…

The location was perfect for this shoot (Weller’s Book Story in Trolley Square). I was a little concerned with how the lighting would turn out but they had such great light coming in through their windows and the artificial lighting actually worked for the video. The invitations/details, hair/makeup, cake, dress and flowers were the perfect combination for this collaboration. Some seriously amazing vendors who put this all together.
